The 2019 4th Annual GLPOA Smelt Fry is a big success!

In spite of a cold, wet day, the 2019 Smelt Fry was very successful, with many friends and families showing up for a delightful meal and some fine entertainment. The intrepid kitchen staff from the Cottage Cup braved the cold wind in the breezeway downstairs at the Sands on Golden Lake, and fried up fantastic-tasting smelt and fresh-cut French fries for the hungry masses.  In addition, the home-made cole slaw and tartar sauce were particular favourites of many of the attendees. Although we had to eat indoors, the festivities continued with an excellent performance by Richard Martel on guitar.  Finally, at 5PM we determined the door prize and raffle winners.

Our sincere thanks to all who attended the smelt fry this year, and a shout-out to all of the volunteers from the GLPOA family (including the Beatty teens) for their tireless work to make the event a success.

Finally, a big thank you to the Cottage Cup folks who worked in difficult weather conditions, and to the staff at Sands on Golden Lake for hosting the event with their unwavering courtesy and professionalism.  Well done to all!
