Spring Water Levels

Daily Freshet information has started. Please scroll down to view daily rise/drop rates. The values are in centimeters and are the total for the past day. Lake Clear is based on a week. Up to date values will be first.

For the most up-to-date information, please visit the RPG water level website.

Property owners with low lying areas should have protection ready or in place in the event of high water situation. Conditions can change quickly.

R.P.G would like to remind everyone of the dangers around Dams and Generation sites. Strong currents and undertow are extremely dangerous along with unsafe ice conditions!

Water Level Updates for 2017

Last updated:  15 June 2017

Information below will describe in centimeters the amount lake levels have risen or dropped based on the previous days average data.

RPG would like to remind property owners with low lying areas to consider protecting those areas from any possible high water conditions during the Freshet.

GOLDEN LAKE:

Water charts will continue to be updated daily for Golden Lake until normal levels are achieved.

Water level management continues at Round Lake to achieve summer levels. It does not seem to have much effect on drop rates at Golden Lake, unfortunately.

Levels are still declining. Rain will affect the drop rates.

Last of the logs were removed Dec. 5, 2016. The dam is currently empty of stop logs. Levels increased with warm weather system the start of March. The Golden lake outlet has a natural restriction which has a direct effect on how efficiently the lake/system drains.

Golden Lake levels have exceeded the L of Occ. and Upper Limit set at the same level in the BRWMP as of April 8,2017.

Water Level Updates for 2016

Hello all, please keep in mind that the values are the rise/drop rates for the previous day in cm. In the case of Lake Clear it will be for the past week.

To view the daily graphs please proceed to the RPG website www.renfrewpg.ca and click on the Freshet and water levels link.

RPG will again be part of the Spring Freshet calls conducted by the MNRF.

RPG would like to remind all property owners to protect low lying areas in the event of a high water situation and also of the dangers around dams and generation sites.

April 2, 2016: Latest rain event along with an already full lake has contributed to levels at Golden Lake to exceed the L. of Occ. set by the BRWMP as of March 31, 2016 at 20:30. The colder weather on the heels of this front should help to slow flows down.

April 15, 2016: It appears levels have crested but are not declining as of yet. Most of the snow is gone in the area.

May 24, 2016: Please find the last of the Freshet updates for 2016. Once again I believe we were successful in providing adequate communication.

If anyone has any suggestions or any improvements please pass along to me.

Have a great summer.

Thank-you

Shawn

Water Level Updates for 2015

Hello everyone,  RPG is ending the reporting as far as Spring Freshet.  Conditions appear to be stable and dry at this point.  We will continue to manage levels to achieve summer levels.

I feel the communication was again a success for this season.  With the daily updates from RPG and also the MNRF calls it certainly gives everyone the opportunity to be informed.

For weekly levels please use our website under water management.

Thank-you
